Canister Damascus is made by placing ball bearings into a canister and filling the voids with powdered high carbon steel. The can is then closed and forge welded to achieve a solid piece of steel. Following this process, the lump is carefully forged into a bar from which I then forge the blades. This blade is 9" long and 51mm tall at the heel. It sports a beautiful distal taper and a wicked edge. For the handle I chose Ancient Redgum, Micarta and Tiger wood.
